Women’s Safety, Security & Employee Welfare Programmes at Apparel Industries

The Women’s Safety, Security, and Employee Welfare Programme is a key initiative of Janodaya Trust aimed at creating safe, inclusive, and equitable workplaces for women employed in the apparel and garment industries.

Through this programme, Janodaya works to build awareness, promote gender sensitivity, and strengthen workplace rights — ensuring that women employees are empowered, protected, and supported both professionally and personally.

Our Initiative

Janodaya collaborates with several apparel industries to:

  • Create safe spaces for women workers through awareness and rights-based education
  • Provide counselling and grievance redressal support for women employees
  • Enable access to welfare and social security services
  • Sensitize workers and management on gender equality, workplace ethics, and mental well-being

To implement these goals, full-time counsellors are appointed by Janodaya who:

  • Visit various company units regularly
  • Offer individual and group counselling sessions
  • Monitor workplace culture to identify and address grievances
  • Conduct training and awareness sessions on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act, 2013

Our Goal

To foster safe, respectful, and empowering workplaces for women in the apparel industry — where dignity, equality, and justice form the foundation of every organization.
