Under "Women Empowerment", as women's issues of equality, equity, economic empowerment and justice were negotiated by activists NGO's women were provided with capacity development, skill trainings and opportunities within employment sector and professional educational fields. This growth brought in educated women into professional employment, specially IT/BT sector, requiring women's shelter needs, safety and protection at work place, in Bangalore city.

Government under "Swadhar" projects and Govt., land management department (Bangalore Development Authority- BDA) supported NGO's with organizing shelter and hostel facilities. Under this project, Janodaya was allotted a civic amenity site by BDA for building a working women hostel in Koramangala.

Now Janodaya has 5 working women hostels managed for outsourced institution and its own at Peenya, Mysore road, Koramangala and Nelamangala.
